The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has mandated new aviation standards of English proficiency for flight crew members and air traffic controllers starting March 5, 2008.
Florida Institute of Technology's Aviation English Program
Without a doubt, communication is a major safety issue for the aviation industry. All international pilots and air traffic controllers must be assessed for licensing purposes to the approved ICAO standard by March.
How will your organization make sure that your personnel meet these safety related proficiency standards? Florida Institute of Technology has a solution to meet these important ICAO compliance requirements.
Florida Tech's Aviation English Program can be completed totally online from any location, and may also be taken partially online through a blended learning approach combining distance learning with onsite classroom learning. Research indicates that a blended learning model is the most effective approach.
Applicants will be provided with a thorough combination of listening, speaking and reading comprehension skills, while increasing vocabulary and improving pronunciation. These skills will thoroughly prepare each applicant to take the ICAO Level 4 English proficiency exam.
The program provides training in five English skill levels, from basic to advanced. The skill levels conform to ICAO's skill levels, with each lesson written by a professional team of aviation content and linguistic experts.
Florida Tech's Aviation English Program allows for a variety of delivery options. Training can be 100% online or it can combine the best features of both online and on-site training in the blended learning option for English language training.
The program has been developed and tested with credible organizations around the globe. We would like the opportunity to discuss how Florida Tech can help your organization achieve ICAO compliance with English requirements - in the most productive and cost efficient manner.
