About the National Capital Region Extended Studies Site

Florida Tech's National Capital Region site is centrally located in Alexandria, Virginia, with an additional classroom location at the Marine Corps Base Quantico. The Alexandria site is comprised of an administrative suite, classrooms and a modern computer learning center. The Quantico location consists of a counseling office and a classroom.

Students hail from the entire metropolitan Washington, D.C. area including the District, northern Virginia and Maryland. Most students work full-time and are employed by national, state and local governments, military departments, and a wide variety of for-profit companies and non-profit organizations.

Classes are taught by full-time or adjunct faculty at Florida Tech, all meeting the same academic standards as the main campus in Melbourne, Florida.

In addition to the 14 graduate degree programs identified on this Web site, the NCR site also offers five-course graduate certificate programs in several disciplines, including a highly-regarded program in Logistics and Contract Management. Florida Tech's graduate certificate programs are intended to satisfy the professional development training needs for those students who choose not to pursue a master’s degree program at this time.

Library support is provided by Florida Tech's Evans Library located at the main campus. Evans Library can be accessed via the Internet at www.lib.fit.edu. Additional library support is available from the many fine federal and local libraries in the greater Washington, D.C. area.

In brief, the NCR off-campus programs provide the opportunity for interested individuals to continue their education to increase their professional and technical competence, and thereby enhance career development and progression.
