The Distance Learning Division serves as
the focal point for all Florida Tech’s distance learning
activities. In any single day, the division’s faculty
and staff will be integrating all aspects of distance education
initiatives across the globe, such as curriculum planning
and projections, technology support and management, partnership
development and logistical operations.
An important key to
the successful operation of the Distance Learning Division
is to ensure collaboration between all
university departments. From academic policy issues to
resource planning and technological allocations, all facets
of the
campus are instrumental to the success of not just the
Virtual Campus, but to all distance learning initiatives
campuswide.
Distance learning is not a fad or trend.

one may say? Choices are wide and varied for online graduate
degree programs. Those universities that respond to the
needs of students will succeed.
University College sees
the need for effective course management systems and
teaching strategies that utilize
the latest
technology. The Distance Learning Division serves all
parts of the world.
Students attend the Virtual Campus anywhere—from
Montreal, Quebec, to Monterey, California, and from
Saudi Arabia to
San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Mary Bonhomme, Ph.D., associate provost, online learning, recognizes the
strength of Florida Tech and
the role it plays, “This university maintains
a significant presence among our fellow colleges for
providing an excellent
academic environment. Through informed planning and
consideration for our constituents, I am confident
we, as a university,
will keep pace with technology demands of the workplace
and curriculum needs of our students.” |
